Italy’s Deadly Carnage have signed to Willowtip Records! Over the course of two decades, the Post-Black Metal/Doom/Shoegaze quartet have continually evolved, culminately in 2023’s release of the widely praised Endless Blue, an album Angry Metal Guy described as “beautiful, compelling, and unique, with a character of its own that brings its listener inside its world of contemplative melancholy and reverie.” But the best is yet to come!
Deadly Carnage continue to work on their Willowtip debut, a concept album that promises to be their most ambitious yet! Here is what the band had to say about it:
“After a long period of silence, the time has finally come to reveal something; for almost two years we have been working tirelessly on a new concept album whose foundations were created even before releasing Endless Blue.
This time we will go back in time to address a topic that is particularly close to our hearts; Witchcraft and Witch Hunts, which between the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance fueled collective fears that led to the unjust accusation of countless innocent women and men. Our new concept album does not aim to analyze the historical or sociological facts of this phenomenon, but intends to tell an intimate story of loss and personal growth through the symbolism of Witchcraft; a story seen through the eyes of a female protagonist (rightly so) who will accompany us on her journey through the night and beyond the mists to reveal ancient practices and
lost knowledge.
Many years ago we mentioned our interest in these themes with our debut album, but now, on the threshold of twenty years of activity, it is time to close the circle; for us it’s time to address this still extremely current topic. We still have a long way to go to release this new album, but every day we are giving our all to its realization. Soon we will reveal more details. We can’t wait to tell this new story!”
BIO:
Deadly Carnage was born in 2005 from an idea of Adres (Bass) and Marco (Drums). After the first periods of militancy in the Italian Underground Black Metal scene, the band begins to turn its gaze towards more atmospheric, introspective and intimate sounds. Since 2008 Deadly Carnage have begun to contaminate their vision of Atmospheric Black Metal with Doom, Post-Rock and Post-Metal influences in a musical journey made of lights and shadows to create a crepuscular and evocative atmosphere.
