Metal on Metal Records has signed a new Italian doom metal act IV SIGILLO (pronounced as QUARTO SIGILLO) featuring members of THUNDERSTORM, EPITAPH and MENACE for the release of their eponymous debut album in October.

The label commented:
“What do you get when you mix THUNDERSTORM and EPITAPH, two seminal Italian doom metal bands? Only few people have known so far, but we’re here to change that. We are beyond excited to announce that IV SIGILLO (pronounced in Italian as QUARTO SIGILLO, meaning the Fourth Seal) have joined Metal on Metal Records family.
Hailing from northern Italy (Lombardy and Veneto regions), this band is exactly what you can imagine as the result of a union between the rhythm section from the now sadly disbanded semi-legendary epic doom metal trio THUNDERSTORM (founded in the early ’90s and boasting five strong albums in their discography) and the (former) vocalist of EPITAPH. The line-up is completed by a guitarist from a heavy/speed metal act MENACE. When they contacted us, introducing the band, we couldn’t have clicked any faster on the link to download their debut album, having been big fans of both bands for years (and also knowing them personally)! And it didn’t leave our player for a long, long time. For us, their music is the very essence of the revered Italian doom metal style that is like no other, the style which has this special aura of weirdness, occult, mystery and old horror movies, often described as the “Dark Sound”. Traditional, but also obscure, esoteric and eccentric with those quirky vocals of Emiliano, their debut album “Quarto Sigillo” will be out this October.”

The band stated:
“The Seal is almost broken, foul Energies and Sendings of Despair are now seeping through: we struck a deal with illustrious label Metal on Metal Records, which is due to release Quarto Sigillo’s eponymous album later this year. What could possibly be better than signing with a label whose catalog is preeminently present in our own heavy metal collections (we do appreciate and admire several of MOMR artists and albums)? And whose esteemed managers we’ve grown to know – personally – as stalwart connoisseurs of all things heavy and gloomy?
Now, on to more nefarious acts!”
